THE STORY
The raised fist went global on October 16, 1968, when Tommie Smith and John Carlos stood on the Olympic podium in Mexico City, heads bowed, fists in the air. That same year James Brown released “Say It Loud – I’m Black and I’m Proud.” The symbol has meant pride, solidarity and refusing to shrink ever since.
This design keeps the fist and adds a wink. “Intoxicated Off Melanin” is self-love said out loud, the kind of shirt that gets a “say that!” from across the parking lot.
