Description

THE STORY

Sankofa is an Akan word from Ghana usually translated as “go back and get it.” It’s often drawn as a bird looking backward while carrying an egg, the past carried forward as a seed. Adinkra symbols like it have been printed on cloth in Ghana for centuries, each one a full proverb in a single shape.

The design takes that idea into space. Memory becomes a galaxy, ancestry becomes DNA, and the title says the rest: what you remember is powerful, and some people would rather you forget.
